Ratings of River

Class I-II Typically indicates waves below 80cm high, with little navigation required, and low consequences or chances of tipping over – Best for young children and tentative adults.

Class III Waves up to 1 meter in height, navigation is required to make your way through rocks and obstacles, rapids are challenging but not overwhelming – This is best for an introductory level of rafting.

Class IV Waves and drops of up to 2 meters. proper navigation is a must, as the chance of falling out or flipping a raft is present. Participants must be ready to listen and respond to instructions from their guide. If you do exit the raft this can potentially be an uncomfortable swim where you may bump into rocks – This is best for the gung-ho adventure seeker; it can be taken on by the inexperienced rafter but an aptitude for adventure needs to be present.

  • You'll be picked up from your hotel in Chiang Mai Town and begin the scenic 1.5-hour drive to the camp.
  • Arrive at the camp, which serves as your base for the day. You'll have time to use the lockers, changing rooms, and toilets.
  • Meet your certified guides, receive your safety equipment (helmets and life vests), and attend a crucial safety briefing to prepare for the river.
  • Begin your thrilling white water rafting adventure on the Mae Taeng River. The trip length will be based on your booking, with options typically including an 8km or 10km route.
  • After conquering the rapids, you'll return to the camp for a well-deserved hearty Thai lunch.
  • Say goodbye to the camp and begin the drive back to Chiang Mai Town.

    • For your safety. The daily program can be changed without prior notice depending on the weather condition on that day.

    • 1.5-hour drive from Chiang Mai Town to our camp, which serves as the base for all our tours. Upon arrival, you’ll find everything you need to get ready, with secure lockers, clean toilets, and shower facilities available for your convenience.
    • For the mildest section of river that we run (Class I-II) there is an age limit of 5 years old and 50 Lb (22 kg). For the moderate level of whitewater (Class II-III) there is an age limit of 7 years old. For the advanced level of whitewater (Class III-IV) there is an age limit of 15. All guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or have a parent or legal guardian pre-sign a release of liability form for that individual
    • We require that all participants are fit and healthy. Our insurance covers ages up to 75
    • We have different size rafts for varying water levels throughout the year to ensure safety. Rafts have a maximum of six people. During the dry season March- May we use inflatable kayaks instead of rafts as they’re more fun!
