Chiang Mai is a great place to experience the national sport of Thailand, Muay Thai. While there are several stadiums in the city, the Chiang Mai Boxing Stadium is one of the most popular and is known for its high-energy, authentic matches.

Authentic Fights: Unlike some tourist-focused shows, the Chiang Mai Boxing Stadium is known for hosting real, competitive matches with a mix of local Thai boxers and international fighters.
Fight Schedule: Fights are typically held on Monday to Saturday nights, with the action starting around 9:00 PM. Doors usually open an hour earlier, giving you time to find your seat and soak it all in.
Ticket Prices: Tickets usually come in a few tiers:
Standard/Grandstand: The most affordable option, offering a good view from tiered seating.
Ringside: Provides a much closer, more immersive view of the action. Include a complimentary drink.
VIP: The most premium option, including unlimited drinks and snacks, and sometimes access to a private, air-conditioned room.
Location: The stadium is located in the Chang Phueak area of Chiang Mai, just north of the Old City’s Chang Phueak Gate. It’s easily accessible by tuk-tuk or songthaew (red truck taxi).

08:00-08:40 PM: Pickup from your hotel in Chiang Mai old town

The stadium doors typically open an hour before the fights begin. Arriving early lets you choose your seats and soak in the pre-fight atmosphere. You'll hear the lively music, see the fighters warming up, and watch the crowd start to fill in.

The main event usually starts with an opening ceremony and a traditional Wai Khru Ram Muay dance performed by the fighters. Over the next two to three hours, you'll witness a series of intense matches, typically featuring 6 to 7 fights with a mix of local and international boxers. The atmosphere is electric, with cheers from the crowd and the sound of the ringside bell.

After the final bell, you'll have a chance to take photos with the boxers and soak in the final moments of the night. From here, you can easily find a tuk-tuk or songthaew to take you back to your hotel or to continue your night out in the city.
